Little Love Notes Challenge~ Day 10

Oh my goodness today  was early!!

My husband had to leave really early this morning, so we were up at 3 am.

I admit I sat down to pray (use some of the quiet time with God) and I fell asleep praying!!

So now I am behind in my day!!!

Eeek!!

I did, as tired as I was get some cute little notes up to start the day!

Here are his little lunch hints.

011It was a good sandwich!

012Strawberry lemonade!!

010There is the corn!!!

Sweet guy is going to have cavities by the time I am done with this challenge!!

Ha ha ha!!!

Here is the prayer I have for him today.

It is inspired by these bible verses.

James 5:16

The Message (MSG)

“The prayer of a person living right with God is something powerful to be reckoned with.” (The Message)

1 Peter 3:5

The Message (MSG)

4-6 Cultivate inner beauty, the gentle, gracious kind that God delights in. The holy women of old were beautiful before God that way, and were good, loyal wives to their husbands. Sarah, for instance, taking care of Abraham, would address him as “my dear husband.” You’ll be true daughters of Sarah if you do the same, unanxious and unintimidated.

and

1 Thessalonians 5:17

The Message (MSG)

16-18 Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live.

Lord,

may my dear husband be in constant communion with You in all he does. I pray that he will consult with You in all that he does, all that he chooses and all that he plans. May he be admired by others around him for his actions and the choices he makes. May he shine bright with Your amazing glory in all he does so that he is recognized by others as a man of God. May his faith continue to grow stronger and stronger. May he be abundantly blessed in the works that he does.  He is such a good man. I am so blessed to have him for my husband.

In your holy name I pray,

Amen.

How is your challenge going?

Has it strengthened your bond together?

I love seeing that the little thoughts of love I have for my husband through the day

can make such a difference in general.

Keep up the good efforts!! They are appreciated!! I know it!!

Have a blessed day friend!!

Little Love Notes Challenge Day 8 & Day 9

Spent the day with my honey yesterday, so I had no time for blogging.

That means that today I have twice as much to blog about with the little love notes that I left for him!

Whoo hoo!!

Here is where I began on day 8.

Here is what I put in his lunch box.

005 006 007He had a very sweet lunch!!

Then some of the little notes I left all around were these.

002 003 009He had already stuck them to his mirror collection before I got to take a picture of them.

I must say that he really does understand my love of Starbuck’s Peppermint Mocha’s.  Oh I melt for those!!!

Then yesterday, he was home with me and I got to share a few more love notes with him and see his reactions. That was kind of nice too!!

Here are some of his notes.

001What started out as a great idea, a asian pear drink, was terrible.

That stuff tastes like vinegar.

Then the drink was not even clear. Its gold.

Nix that one next time.

The donuts were good though. The kiddos polished those bad boys off for daddy no problem!!

Lunch came around, I gave him these to go with his sandwich.

002Originally I was going for a hunger games idea.  Something like “you are the Pita to my Katniss”, but since he is not a fan of the movie nor did he want to read the books, I figured that this was the better approach to the love note he might appreciate.

It was really nice getting to spend the day with him.

I knew we would spend some time in devotions together,

so I left him a few little kisses.

001Then a message when he got out of the shower.

011Then friends dropped by with their little ones.

It was really nice.

Great day, but I forgot to finish the rest of my love notes I had for him.

That is okay.

He can be blessed with them day 10!!

Here is what I pray for him today.

Dear Lord,

My husband is such a good man. He is a man with a giving heart. He has such integrity. I love that he seeks Your wisdom in all that he does. He consumes the Word of God daily and lives in accordance to Your plan for his life. I pray that he will continue to lead our marriage in a way that will glorify You. Please continue to teach me to be the good wife he deserves.  As I serve my husband, I am serving You.  Please keep my husband in Your loving hands. He is precious to me.

I love you God.

Amen.

I was inspired by this verse:

Proverbs 11:3 NKJV

The integrity of the upright will guide them,
But the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them.

and this one:

Ephesians 5:22-23 NKJV

Wives, submit to your own husbands,

as to the Lord.

23 For the husband is head of the wife,

as also Christ is head of the church;

and He is the Savior of the body.

:)

Hope your weekend Love Notes were spectacular!!

Have a blessed day friends!!

work boots

I am sure I have mentioned before, that I get up every morning and make my husband coffee, his lunch and such.

Have I ever mentioned that I clean and oil his work boots as well?

Well, I do.

I have done that for all the years of our marriage.

He comes home with the dust and grime of the day he had all over his boots.

014Him being in construction, that dust can some days be thick.

I know that I could just grab a damp rag, dust them off really quick and he would be thankful for that.

He truly would.

Instead, I get out the mink oil and after dusting his boots, rub the oil into the boot.

016I know the  benefits for the boot of me doing this,

but I know my husband takes pride in his appearance and softer, clean(er) work boots make him happy.

So I serve him, by gently treating his boots in the mornings to a buff and shine.

015

Yes they still look like work boots.

There is only so much you can do to make them look good.

Here is what you can’t see though,

how much love I send him every day I do this.

My husband knows that this is not my passion, to polish his work boots. Especially when I know that they are going to come back all beat up and dust covered again in 10-12 hours. He knows I do this because I love him. He is important to me.   The oils that I rub into the leather, help the boots become softer and more pliable the more I do this to them. This small task then makes his footwear more comfortable every day he wears them, working so hard for me and the kids.  The oils will help keep the filth and dust from sticking to his boots. They will be resisted for the most part. His boots will still have the grime of the day, but will fall off much easier once he is home.

So after my husband is mostly ready for work,

the coffee is prepared and waiting for us at the table,

his boots are polished and waiting to start his day.

We start our Bible readings, sipping coffee together, I can feel the oil residue still on my fingers.

Then as he prepares to leave I pray, that he be covered by the Lord, just like his boots with the oil.

May all the filth and evil of the day that surrounds my husband, not stick and be resisted.

So that before he returns to our home it can fall off

and be left out in the world where it belongs.

May he be so covered with the Word of God, that even in the harsh temperaments of those that surround him while he is away, that his heart will continue to soften even more in the ways of the Lord. May he shine for you God!

013

I know that it is not much, but I do it with my heart.

I rub the oil  into my hands just a little bit more.

Time to start my day.
