I have known this dazzling daughter of the king for over 10 years. Rosa has always been one of the most happy and positive people I have ever met. Even while going through a significant health challenge, she had nothing but a beautiful infectious smile and a laugh that is so true it brings joy to share with the world. I am privileged to call her my friend.

She has taken her health issues and turned back to God. She had done her research, gone back to school to become a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and is focused on teaching others how to live healthier, cleaner and happier lives. To bring people to true health, they need to be good with God. She has been challenging her friends during this season of “crazy” and “too much” to some simple challenges to keep us focused on what is important. Our families, our faith, our peace with God are what we really need to be thinking about. We all know this simple truth but in December it can get lost a little bit between the gift giving, tree searching, cookie baking, carol singing events that overwhelm us every single year.

Her 5 days of challenges were great. Our family had been practicing them for years. I am sure you do too. One of them is a favorite for me to assign my kiddos for school. You need to write down who you are.

I am a daughter of The King. I am loved. I am chosen. I am of value. I am seen. I am thankful. I am wanted. I am thoughtful. I am kind. I am a servant. I am beloved. I am known. I am vulnerable. I am a good mom. I am faithful. I am a survivor. I am growing. I am blessed. I am healing. I am…you get the idea.

You know how it is so easy at first, but then it starts to get a little difficult. It is a good exercise to remember that you are of value and needed. It is the statement of who you are. Something about putting a pen to paper and actually committing it to the moment really can change things in your heart. She also had us write out things we are grateful for. I want to challenge you to try either of these two uplifting exercises. Be creative! They don’t have to be lists. Draw a picture, sing a song, dance it on Instagram Live, whatever your creative outlet is, express yourself. Give yourself just five minutes. Its not to make something better than anyone else. It is just a gift to yourself this Christmas. One that, if you allow it, will warm your heart. There is no cost, only time, and it is really special how the Lord will continue to show you through the next few days just how blessed you are.

Lifting prayers that you will find joy during this new CHRISTmas season. May you find more gifts than you even knew you had. May your soul warm as you praise His holy name. May the lights of the season be a dim reflection of the light the Holy Spirit fills you with and may you share that light with gladness as you travel through life today and always. Little Love Notes Challenge~ Day 4

So now my husband knows what I am up to.

He has all these sticky notes with little “I love you’s” on them.

He even said ” I know you love me.”

“I know” I replied. ” I am doing it anyway because you deserve this.”

That being said, here is day 4.

Pray that my husband will always grow in God-centered leadership skills in our relationship

protecting and providing for us.

Pray that he will lead me wisely and love me sacrificially,

so that God will be glorified in our marriage.

Little Love Note Challenge ~ day 2

Okay, day 2 was a little difficult.

It was such a busy day!

Get up early. Jr had mandatory yearly inspection for sea cadets. We went to church. Jr forgot his BDU hat, we ran that up to him. Made brunch for the rest of the family. Cleaned up and then ran back out to pick Jr up before the Superbowl. Watched Superbowl…don’t even know how to comment on that sad game…and made dinner. Then fizzled out and turned into a lump on the couch.

I did however, find ways to leave a couple  little love notes anyway.

Just not as many as I had hoped.

Minor set back.

On the bathroom mirror, I left this for him.

I tried to find little fun times to leave him notes between church and Superbowl…just failed at that.

I did get another little funny one in though when I served him his dinner.

I got a “very cute dear” with a snicker from the husband and a “no you didn’t” from Aimee, with a snicker as well.

So it was at the very least, a silly love note to end the day.

Here is the prayer I chose to pray for him.

That the Lord would bless his work

Do you see someone skilled in their work?
    They will serve before kings;
    they will not serve before officials of low rank.

My husband is so skilled too!!

I love the thoughts in my heart, of him serving before the Lord.

The name is still a work in progress, but I started the challenge anyway.

I was really cheesy today.

For my husband’s breakfast here is what he saw.



I did that.

He snickered.

Then I packed this in his lunch.



Cheesy, I know.

I love giving him those little silly smiles though.

Here is the prayer I am sending him later, for his strength physically, emotionally and spiritually.

So now I am getting prepped for tomorrow’s little love notes.

My Challenge

I love my husband.

He is my blessing from God.

He is a gift that I can hardly believe is mine and is more, much more than I feel I deserve.

My husband is a good, patient and loving man.

He is so much more than I deserve.

God is so good.

Since I am so blessed, I am going to challenge myself this year.

The Lord knows that I think Valentine’s Day is ridiculous.

That being said, my handsome man kinda gets jipped on February 14th.

I am going to remedy that this year!!

Here is my challenge:

I am going to give my husband 14 days of crazy over the top amounts of  little silly love notes, cards with things that I love about him written inside, pictures (maybe hand drawn) of things I want for us to get to do together, that kind of thing and then end the whole chi-bang with dinner out! We will be with friends, see a comedy show and have a wonderful dinner.

That being said, I have a few ideas of things I will be doing.

I will be posting them also to keep me honest and focused.

So…what do you think?

I think every good husband deserves this.

Not because it is Valentines Day am I doing this. It just happens to be February tomorrow and this has been on my mind to do this for him for a while. Why not serve my husband a little extra for a few weeks?  He is worth every little extra thing I can do for him.
