He is my why

In all things, I want to put Him first, everyday, in every way.

Lord, use me as a pioneer for Christ.  Help me to remember that it should always be Your will be done, not mine.  Let others perpetually hear me speak heavenly truth.  I want others to read my words of worship and praise, knowing beyond a shadow of doubt, that there is One Mighty True King!!  I want people to observe my actions and witness Jesus through my hands and feet serving others.  As I am walking my path in this life, may I be obedient in bestowing the sweetness of Your grace to anyone I might meet.

For I have been blessed beyond measure with all that has been shared with me from above. You have taken my hand and led me out of the darkness of this world, bringing me to a place that has filled my heart with a joy there are no words to explain. You have taken my burden of pain, regret, heartache…so many things, horrible things that found their way to slowly and methodically mutilate my soul till it was unrecognizable. Yet You still heard my cry. When this world had condemned me to hell and death, You still came, pulled me from the suffocating darkness I was trapped in, and then held me close while I cried. You dried my tears, healed my wounds then looked at me with nothing but love. You called me beautiful.

I love You Lord.

Thank You for choosing me as Your daughter.

The fullness of joy!!

Doesn’t that just fill your heart thinking about it?  The fullness of JOY!! John 15:11 quotes Jesus as saying ” These things I have spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.”

Only true believers in Christ can really experience the fullness of joy.  It is a mindset.  It is the Christian attitude. We are no longer of this world!! We are set apart!!  We live for Jesus!!  We find joy in all situations, no matter the people or circumstances we may find ourselves surrounded by.  God is so good!!

He defeats any and every doubt or worry you might have and replaces it with His peace.

Holy Spirit fill our hearts with Your love and peace.  Help us grow abundantly in our walk with You.  May the fullness of joy be woven into our daily lives, welling up so much in our hearts that is completely spills over into the world around us. May we be a reflection of Christ in all we do. Amen

Share joy today my friends.

It will return tenfold.

While it is still early, the house is still asleep.  I get up and make bread for my family.  I start the dough the night before and then I spend some time kneading the cold and sticky mass.  While I am pushing and pulling, preparing the bread, I find myself in communication with The Lord.

I am not a morning person, but it has always been a wonderful time to pray.  For myself I can see this as one of the reasons in Proverbs 31:15 why the wife would get up early to prepare food for her family and maid servants.  It is to have that quiet time alone with God.  When I follow this example of the Proverbs woman, then when my kids get up and moving, I am already in a more pleasant mood and ready to help them along.

Speaking only for myself, it is easier to get up for a purpose.  For example: a crying baby, to let out a dog, to send the handsome husband off to work…or…to make bread for the family.  Is that you too?

Honestly, it takes determination and a strong mindset to get up early and spend time with our Heavenly Father.  How many times have I personally wanted to listen to my flesh and just cuddle back up in my covers and talk to Him later?  I am not perfect. I love snuggling with my soft gray blanket!! When I get up, I have chores to do, a family to care for, lessons to teach…I am busy once I am up.  That is why I believe, God put it on my heart to get up early and serve my family.  He wants to make sure that I have quiet time with Him, with less distractions, and more focus on connecting with the Creator before all the chaos and noise of living in this day and age begins.

In the morning when I rise, I feed my loves bread to nourish their bodies and I fill myself with the bread my Savior has offered me.  I am blessed when I wake up ready to serve my family and my God.

I love that I can start my day with bread.

Morning Friend!!

Oh my goodness!! We have a bit to catch up on!! Hurry and grab your mug while the coffee is still hot in the pot and settle on down here with me so we can have a little fellowship time before my whole house wakes up! You picked a good day to stop by!!

Today is: Friday April 24, 2020

Outside is: getting stinking hot!! Really this weather is wack. Just 2 days ago we had light rain falling from the sky, the fireplace roaring snuggled up on the couch doing our homeschool lessons with potato cheese soup on the stove. Today its going to be 92 and the thought of hot soup for dinner is just not a good idea. Positive side, my plants are thriving!!

In the oven for dinner: I have leftover chicken from last night. It is a Montreal mango chicken that is going to be really good on a bed of lettuce with bell peppers and avocado. I may even run out and pick up some Hawaiian bread to have with it!! Oh my word, dinner is going to be delicious!!

What I have been thinking about: I am really wanting to get myself back into gardening.  I had to stop for a while when the littles hit high school because we were it seemed like everywhere all the time. Whoever said that homeschoolers are sheltered and had no social lives was INSANELY MISINFORMED!! Sweet corn and carrots are they not!! My kids had events, service projects, dances, classes…we were ALWAYS RUNNING SOMEWHERE!! I just really feel in my heart the want to just slow down a little and get my hands dirty helping things to grow. I want to feel the joy of seeing my little seedlings popping through the earth. I want to drop bits of water over the little plants as they begin to bring forth fruit or veggies knowing how delicious they are going to taste. I have found some videos on Amazon Prime that have reinforced this feeling. Is it just me or have you been feeling a need to get back to maybe things you have done in the past? Honestly. Curious if it is just me or is it going to be something many people are going to embrace.

The project I am working on: I am so excited about the project I am working on!! You know how I said I want to get back into gardening? I don’t have a ton of space anymore in my backyard but I have enough to have a little garden and I am going to use it!! My husband is so sweet he just finished making me a raised bed to start my taco garden in!

Mood today: I am excited! I am really happy to watch all my little seeds grow and hopefully feed my family.  The rest of the world may be in chaos but I am finding structure and joy in the little things that are consistent in my life.

What I am reading: I am actually still reading The Ezekiel Generation by Grant Berry. It is an eye opener. I love how I am now seeing how the Bible has even another layer written into it that I would never have seen. It is from the Jewish perspective and it has opened a part of my heart for them. They are such a special people and God loves them so much. It is an honor to be able to understand how powerful His love is for them and what my role is to bring them Jesus. I have not finished it yet but I already highly recommend it to any Christian who wants to grow their faith.

School stuff: Oh Mylanta, the end of the year pull to get things finished is hitting. Belle is not happy as to how much stuff I am starting to really expect done well from her.  Her besties are already getting ready for high school work and I am expecting the same level of work from her. We are still having fun because I believe you should have fun learning. So we have had creative time, actually all of us, making chalk paintings, sending letters of hope and joy, baking cookies to share…we may not be able to serve at church in the same manner, but we are the church and we will find new ways to serve. It is encouraging to see how they find ways to help.  We started reading The Diary of Anne Frank this week too. Those Christians found incredible ways to serve, ways that had every possibility of ending their lives if discovered. We finished The Hiding Place earlier so this just amplified her understanding of the danger people sometimes have to put themselves in to do the right thing. It can be scary and God does not call everyone to do the dangerous, but we can all do something.

Picture to share:

One of my favorite nephews got married this week!! I am so happy for them!! Look at the joy they are just bursting with!! Been sending up tons of prayers of blessings for these to crazy kids!! Love seeing when couples are still getting married during all this insane quarantine business. To me this means that it really is about getting married, not all the hoopla that can go along with it. It really is because they love each other and want to spend forever as a married couple.

Oh golly. We have been chit chatting for longer than I thought!! Wish we had more time.  Praying the Lord will continue to bless you and keep you from harm and illness.  Stay safe and find joy in today my friend. We will talk again soon.

You are what you eat from your head down to your feet.

Remember learning that little poem in grade school? It is true.  If you eat a bunch of junk food, that tastes so good going in but the little nasty bits decide to stay and hang out for a while in a not so nice way. Those suckers come in and take up residence as unwanted bumps, tucks and rolls in various locations on your body. As you get older, those stinkers get harder and harder to evict from your being too. GGRRRRR!

I can hear you cute little skinny young things out there saying ” that’s not true! I exercise hard every single day and I look great!! I can eat anything I want!!” I hear you sugar!!  Oh and honey, you do look incredible, ON THE OUTSIDE. How is your body doing on the inside? Are you running on optimal thrusters? What damage is all that fake food doing to your cells, circulatory system, your liver, yada yada yada?

“But I take the best vitamins! I use special oils! I use this amazing whatever and I am healthy!!”  You can bandaid your health as much as you want and justify it to yourself however it helps you sleep at night.  The truth still remains that the cleaner you eat, the better your temple for God will run.

He gave you what you need to keep your body healthy.  Real food.  It is the same with your soul.  It needs to be fed.  Don’t keep giving it just a taste of goodness and filling it up with drivel.  All the “junk” you take in reading, listening to and watching just fills time in your day not in your heart.  If you have time to spend watching the Kardashians, you have time for The Word of God.  We need to be invested in the study of it!!  Yes, we can attend church online ( or when things are better actually in a physical church) and hear The Word taught to us and that is good for our soul!! It fills us up and that is wonderful!! That is a healthy spiritual meal…but it is just the appetizer. We need to add reading a devotional, listening to worship music, maybe scroll through some ministry chick’s blog to pick up daily dose of a few spiritual vitamins.

We still need more.  We need to remember, even with all these great soul snacks available to us we need to spend time with our substance, The Lord most of all. Spend time feeding your soul His Good Word.  Read your Bible. Really think deeply about what is being shared with you. Ponder for a bit what you are taking in.  Then talk with God.  Ask Him questions.  He has been waiting to spend this time with you and He wants to hear from you. Share your hurts! Praise His holy name! I promise you, He is listening.

He is what keeps your spirit healthy.  He is the bread of life. He is the living water. He is your soul’s healthy food. Dive in and be nourished my friend.

Sharing Thoughts Sent From A Friend

So many interesting things to ponder here…

The official lockdown started March 23 and will likely end May 1st. That is EXACTLY 40 days.

The Latin root of the word “quarantine” is “forty”.

So what does the Bible say about 40?

The flood lasted 40 days.

40 years Moses fled Egypt.

40 days Moses stayed on Mount Sinai to receive the Commandments.

Exodus lasted 40 years.

Jesus fasted for 40 days.

40 days for a woman to rest after giving birth.

Optimum number of weeks for human gestation is 40.

A group of theologians thinks the number 40 represents “change”. It is the time of preparing a person, or people , to make a fundamental change.

Something will happen after these 40 days.  Just believe and pray.  Remember whenever the number 40 appears in the Bible, there is a “change”.

Please know that during this “quarantine” rivers are cleaning up, vegetation is growing , the air is becoming cleaner because of less pollution, there is less theft and murder, healing is happening and most importantly, people are turning to Christ. The earth is at rest for the first time in many years and hearts are truly transforming.

Remember we are in the year 2020, and 20+20=40.

Also, 2020 is the year of the United States Census. Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world was born during a census.

Lastly, 2020 is perfect vision. May our sight focus on the Lord and living according to His perfect vision for us knowing He holds us in the palm of His hand.

I Pray We Don’t Go Back To Normal

  1. I pray that the next time a friend grabs me and pulls me in for a hug, I actually take the time to appreciate the gift of their embrace.
  2. I pray that when school resumes and people are dropping kids off, they take the time to thank the staff for the amazing gift that they give to our community.
  3. I pray that the next time I’m sitting in a crowded restaurant I take the time to look around at the smiling faces, loud voices and thank God for the gift of community.
  4. I pray that the next time I’m standing in church listening to the voices of praise and worship that I take a moment to thank God for the gift of congregation.
  5. I pray that the next time I see a person or situation that needs prayer, I hope I pray as passionately and fervently as I have the past few weeks.
  6. I pray that when I am at the grocery store that I take a moment to thank God the He provides us with the necessities of life and the amazing people who work so hard to keep us supplied.
  7. I pray that I never again take for granted the ability to hop in the car and visit a friend, go to the mall, go to a gathering, etc.

So truth is, I don’t want things to return to the way they once were.  I pray that we take the lessons and challenges of the past few weeks and create a new normal.

my goal is to pray more, love harder and truly appreciate the daily abundance of blessings that were so easily overlooked just a mere few weeks ago.

Be Blessed Today!

It is all for good

There are days I wish I never experienced.

I have had moments that will haunt my heart forever.

There are seasons of my life that I would not wish on any living soul.

I have experienced deep anguish that is so encompassing only the enemy could enjoy that juncture in my life.

Through it all God has been good to me.  Sadly, I could not see that goodness while I was walking in those significant points in my life.  As horrible as some of them were, they have made me who I am today.  I thank God for saving me!! He brought me to it and He saw me through it!! I have been able to use some of my greatest sorrows to know exactly how to pray for a friend.  I can be that person for some, who have walked a path similar to the one that they are now broken by.  I can offer a hand and show them how Jesus got me through.  How He wants to help them too.

The trials I have endured, have brought me to my knees many times.  I have cried oceans at the feet of my Savior.  He has always been my Beautiful Rock in the storm.  He has used EVERY SINGLE BROKENNESS IN MY LIFE FOR GOOD.

Suffering is not a hindrance, it is the chance to be used by God in ways we could never imagine!!  Change your perspective when live is kicking you low.  That way when the trials come, we stand firm with Jesus and put our faith to work!!  It won’t make the trial any easier, but when you know that God has ordained this trial and He will use it for His Glory…we can get through it with grace.  Then we will show our true Christian caliber.  Not a moment of the pain is wasted. We can show the world how much bigger our faith is than the fleshly worries of the world!!  God will give us treasure from the trial!! The future is save in God’s hands.

Verse of my day

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.  For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that for outweighs them all.  So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”    2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (NIV)
