Here is one of our family favorites, Jammy Bars!!
Oh my gosh these are so darn good you will make them all the time!!
2 sticks of butter (room temperature)
1 box of crushed graham crackers
1 cup of brown sugar
8 oz of your favorite jam/ jelly (we use our homemade strawberry usually)
First pre-heat your oven to 400 degrees.
Then grease your pan which should be a 9 x 13 baking pan or something equivalent.
Now comes the fun part. Put your butter, graham crackers and brown sugar in a bowl and combine till it is fully combined.
It will look a bit like dough, messy dough, that means its right.
Take 2/3 of the dough and flatten it into the bottom of the baking pan. It does not have to be perfect but cover as much as you can of the bottom.
Now open up your jam or jelly and pour it over the dough. Use a spoon to spread it over the dough, kind of like you are icing the dough.
Then take the last of the dough and crumble it over the top of the jam.
Cover as much as you can but leave some of the jam sticking out sporadically.
Place in the oven for 30 minutes. Your house is going to smell soooooo good!!
Take it out now and let it cool. I like to let it cool for a couple of hours and make the family just drool in anticipation.
